There is something I have noticed about this thing we call life.  Storms are sure to come. In fact, more than likely, you are either in one of three places at this very moment. You are either coming out of a storm, about to step into one, or you are smack dab in the middle of one.

Life can sure be overwhelming at times. If we are honest, life is just hard.

Broken relationships, divorce, someone close to you passes away. Maybe you’ve been out of work or perhaps you have three jobs and you still struggle to make ends meet.

The other thing I’ve noticed about life is that Satan loves to distract us.  He loves to burden us down with worry, so we take our eyes off God and we begin to focus on the storms around us. He reminds us, just how big and ferocious those waves are, that are crashing around us. All of a sudden, we feel isolated, desperate and alone, and the next thing that Satan steals from us is our hope.

That is a horrible place to be and nothing, I mean nothing, feels worse!

Most people, who reach this place of hopelessness, have no idea how to pull themselves out of this horrible place. Satan lies to you and tells you that because of mistakes you have made, there is no way out and the worst is yet to come. He loves to kick us when we are down and reminds us just how unworthy we are of anyone’s love, especially God’s.

It is very sad, but this is the state of mind that a lot of people woke up to this morning.

Well, if you are reading this and if I have just described you or your situation, then I have good news for you. There is a way out and I promise you, that if you will do what I suggest, you will be able to find your way out of your situation.

The very first thing that you need to know is, you are not alone. Literally millions of people have fallen into this trap that Satan sets. God’s word tells us that Satan comes to do three things; he comes to steal, kill and to destroy.  He is the master of disaster; he is the ultimate deceiver and can manipulate better than anyone.  Don’t beat yourself up. It’s very easy to fall into his trap. We’ve just got to get you out and we will!

So, this is very important for you to know and remember.  Someone can tell you what to do to get out of a situation, but if you don’t do it, then it really will not help you. So, the first step is, you have to follow the steps and do it with an open and trusting heart.

Let’s get started:

Find somewhere quiet and private and pray to the Lord. Ask Him to forgive you of all your sins, so that you can approach His Throne of Grace, washed in His forgiveness through Jesus.

Second, the Bible tells us to come boldly before his throne; this means we are to not be afraid to tell God anything. Tell Him all of your hurts, your concerns; tell Him the whole story and where you need His guidance and help.  Literally, give Him every detail and every worry you have.

Your prayer may go something like this, “Lord, I’m just being honest with you; I don’t know how I got here. I know I have made a lot of mistakes and I’ve done a lot of things wrong. I can’t go back and change any of that. I can only do what’s right now. I need you to come to where I am, in all of this mess and pick me up.  I cannot do it alone any longer and I need your help. Your word tells me that you can make all things new and you promise that you will forgive me of all of my sins and everything I have done wrong. Well, Lord, I’m asking for your help. I need you and I love you. Come in to my heart and cleanse me and make me whole.  Make me the person you created me for and the person you want me to be.  Help me in every situation I’ve prayed about.  Take away all of my worries and all of my anxieties. Make all the crooked paths straight and slay all of the giants before me. I give you everything, Lord. I love you… Amen.”

Lastly, thank Him for His saving Grace and His love for you. You’re right, you don’t deserve it. None of us do; He does it because He loves us. All we have to do is thank Him, love Him, trust Him, and most of all, live for Him.

Will you fall and make mistakes along the way?  Yes! Will He be there to help and guide you every time you fall? Absolutely.

Here is the difference God makes in your situation. He has the ability to make a way where there is no way possible.  When man says, “It cannot be done!” God says, “With God, all things are possible!”

So, you have given this whole thing over to the Lord now. Just by doing that alone, if you have followed these instructions, it should have made you feel so much better. Now, trust in God that He is working behind the scenes to make a way for you. Trust Him with your life. He knows what is best for you.

Is it going to always be easy now? No….  We still live in this world and life is still hard, but the difference now is God is on your side and is helping you, guiding you, protecting you and empowering you.

Read God’s holy word. It is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path. It is there for instruction, strength, guidance, and will show you the way. Pray every single day. Talk to God and have communion with Him. He literally longs to hear from you and spend time with you.

Do something to make a difference in someone’s life today.
