City of Waxahachie

The city of Waxahachie Animal Services will spray for nuisance mosquitoes from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. Thursday, June 17, and will be following a schedule that sees the city spraying every 10 days thereafter.

The city will also be setting and checking traps by quadrants during the summer to make assessments for numbers of mosquitoes. If at any time the numbers are low and indicate no need for spraying, the city will adjust accordingly.

The city expects the process to spray the entire city will take from six to eight hours with three trucks and three people.

For questions regarding mosquito spraying, contact Terri Muniz at 469-309-4150 or email

The dates below are tentative, weather permitting, and subject to change. Residents are asked to take preventive measures to assist the city in keeping the mosquito population down.
