Congratulations to the Waxahachie High School one-act play team, which earned the title of district champion after receiving all 1s from all three judges during Saturday’s competition. This year’s production is “The Runner Stumbles,” written by Milan Stitt and inspired by a 1907 murder. “The Runner Stumbles” has been staged on Broadway and made into a film. The WHS team next takes its production to the bi-district competition, performing at 1:30 p.m. this Thursday at South Grand Prairie High School. Accolades earned at the district competition include All-Star Crew – Caleb Reynolds; Honorable Mention – Kamerann Burney (Sister Rita); All-Star Cast – Jaden Patterson (Father Rivard); and Best Actress – Madeline Condor (Mrs. Shandig).
