The community is invited to attend Waxahachie’s annual Juneteenth celebration, which will kick off at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, with a parade that starts at the Ellis County African American Hall of Fame and Museum.

The parade will make its way to Lee Penn Park, 404 Getzendaner St., where the celebration will take place from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Community members will speak at 11 a.m., with a meal served at noon until the food runs out. Live music and children’s activities, including bounce houses, are among the activities.
