The Rotary Club of Waxahachie was recognized Tuesday as the first organization to join Feed the Fight and show appreciation for local Baylor Scott & White healthcare workers on the COVID-19 front lines.

Rotary members delivered sweets and treats along with thank you cards and words of encouragement for the health care workers who have been working day and night to help patients with COVID return to their families.

Because of safety precautions in place at the healthcare campus, donations were delivered in the lobby, with Baylor staff then delivering them to the hospital’s COVID wings.

“Feed the Fight was organized to support our local Baylor Scott & White hospital healthcare workers on the front lines in Waxahachie by delivering food to show our gratitude for them as they help our neighbors, friends and family fight against COVID-19,” Feed the Fight organizer Melissa Chapman said. “Feed the Fight coordinates donations from the community to the hospital staff, giving individuals, local businesses and organizations an opportunity to show their appreciation and support. Donations will provide food for the more than 100 Baylor COVID staff and give them a well-deserved pick-me-up.”
