The Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Despite the growing number of COVID cases, December has been full of blessings, blessings in the form of gift and food donations, volunteering, shopping local, enjoying the endless Christmas light displays throughout Ellis County, seeing the holidays through the eyes of our children and grandchildren, and celebrating the successes we were all capable of this year.

Christmas isn’t the only thing the chamber is celebrating this month, though. Entailed in 2020 were 115 reasons why, 115 established connections, and 115 new chances to welcome in 115 new members to the Waxahachie Chamber. At the beginning of the year, the chamber board and staff set a goal of taking in 100 new members by the end of year, and WE DID IT! Thank you to everyone who helped make this goal an achievement.

This Saturday, the Waxahachie Chamber invites you to safely join us for our final event of 2020 and one that is a first-time for us – a quadruple ribbon cutting ceremony and plaque presentation. We ask that you please wear a mask, wash your hands, keep your distance, and to practice COVID safety protocols when possible.

Chamber Member Spotlight: Waxahachie Golf Club

The Waxahachie Golf Club has an almost 100-year-long history in our community and a history that many of us are a part of in some way, shape or form. Whether you’ve spent days on the course, summers swimming or working at the pool and grubbing out at the café, celebrating an occasion in the banquet hall, enjoying a drink in the lounge, or just passing by on your way in or out of town, the Golf club has made its mark in our community and in our memories.

“Maybe we can start planning a centennial celebration in 2024,” shared the Golf Club manager and head professional, Anthony Hopkins. “The excitement of my job is seeing this golf course grow and interacting with the citizens. Knowing where we have been and having the vision of where this golf course can go keeps me motivated. Come out and play!”

Hopkins noted that anyone is allowed to come golf their 18-hole course, members and guests alike. The Golf Club recently launched a new website that showcases its services, provides customers and readers with news and updates, and allows you to schedule your tee-time. The new website can be accessed at

“I love the Waxahachie Chamber because of the support and team atmosphere it provides. Having the right individuals on staff makes all the difference in the world. Our goals are the same – promote your business and the city of Waxahachie – and when both are paired together, it equals success,” Hopkins said.
