As October draws to an end, the Waxahachie Chamber and the John Houston Family of Companies would like to recognize and celebrate the successful outcome of the third annual Leader Summit that took place Friday, Oct. 23, at The Oaks in Red Oak.

The event was made available to attend online with the purchase of a ticket and included the following speakers: No. 1 New York Times bestselling author, coach and speaker, Dr. John Maxwell, standup comedian Michael Jr., CEO and co-founder of BellaVaughn Inc. LoriAnn Lowery-Biggers, internet sensation Candace Payne, also known as, “Chewbacca Mom,” global pastor at The Oaks Scott Wilson, licensed professional counselor Peter Pinon and international conference speaker, attorney and counseling psychologist, Corlina Donis-Lockwood.

“The 2020 Leader Summit was the result of an incredible collaboration of leaders coming together to make a difference,” said Sandy King, president and CEO of the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce. “The goal was to bring light, laughter, inspiration and tangible skills into a year that has been anything but that. It took many hands, many minds and many prayers to pull it off. We could not be more proud to work alongside such great leaders like the Ellis County Transformation Cabinet and the John Houston team. Not to mention all of the sponsors who stepped up as our partners.”

The Waxahachie Chamber and John Houston Family of Companies partnered with co-sponsors including the Waxahachie Project, Chick-fil-A, Cardinal IG, Baylor Scott & White, Trinity Oaks Mortgage, Linebarger Attorneys at Law, Carrington Coleman, Community National Bank & Trust of Texas, Oncor, United Way, Yeldell Wilson Wood & Reeve P.C. and the 1558 Brand Agency.

“Each year following the summit, we get the most beautiful calls and messages from our guests who left inspired and re-energized,” King said. “This year was no different except that the testimonies seemed to hold more weight than ever before. This year [2020] has been a tough year, but the Leader Summit proved that there are an overwhelming number of people who are renewed in purpose and ready to lead us to a beautiful tomorrow. We are honored to play a role in that and work alongside so many leaders at the same time.”
