The Waxahachie City Council gave its approval Monday night for a specific use permit to allow a drive-through at the Bahama Bucks snow cone shop under construction at 2761 U.S. Highway 77.

The new restaurant is located inside the North Grove Business Park and across from Cancun’s Amerimex Restaurant.

Bahama Buck’s is known for its shaved ice, which is described on its website as having “a light and airy taste.” In addition to 91 proprietary gourmet flavors and its shaved ice, the restaurant menu features Frostalattes, smoothies, freshly squeezed frozen or iced lemonades and its Paradise Fruit cup.

Waxahachie franchise owner Marc Roux previously told the Sun he became interested in the business after seeing how much his son and friend like it.

“We found Bahama Buck’s because my oldest son would always pursue their kind of snow cones,” Roux previously told the Sun. “The closest one is in Mansfield. He and his friend would drive out to Mansfield on a random Tuesday or Wednesday night to get one of these snow cones. They are that good.”
