Waxahachie High School and Global HOSA students are hosting a Toy Drive through Nov. 13. This drive is in honor of Trevor Daniel of Greenville, who is fighting T-cell lymphoma.
During this time of year, Children’s Health Cancer and Blood Disorders – Dallas usually has a good supply to provide for the many admissions that come during the upcoming holidays. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, there is a shortage of toys.
The hospital is in need of gifts for the holidays and any gift would be greatly appreciated. There will be boxes placed on all Waxahachie ISD campuses at the front office. HOSA students will pick up the toys throughout the drive.
Here is a list of toy ideas, with donations not limited to these:
• Window markers
• Small Play-Doh or model magic
• Board games
• Themed UNO cards
• Individual art kits (examples include Melissa and Doug themed crafts, Make Your Own wind chime, Robot, etc.)
• STEM activities
• Slime kits
• Rock painting kits
“We look forward to the district’s participation and we know together we can bless a lot of children this year with everyone’s help,” a spokesman said. “Help us make a difference this holiday season.”
