The Administrative Board of First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie has unanimously endorsed a partnership that will allow it to sponsor a new Hispanic ministry at its church. Funds for this effort have been given through a grant from the Central Texas Annual Conference.

The Revs. Jesus and Lili Molina are United Methodist pastors serving from their home base in Italy, Texas, and are graduates of United Methodist Garrett Seminary in Illinois.

When the United Methodist Church in Italy closed, the Annual Conference had the foresight to retain the parsonage in Italy for their use, as they had begun a Hispanic ministry in Dresden. They then began a similar ministry in Corsicana that is known as the Alpha Community. Next, they began a house church in Carrollton, becoming pastors to three different congregations in those locations.

The new church service will kick off Sunday, Jan. 3, in the Family Life Center of First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie.
