The Rebecca Boyce Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held its October meeting at the First Baptist Church in Waxahachie with 32 members and six guests in attendance. There was a special presentation of certificates for length of membership in DAR. The ladies receiving certificates were Shelley Gayler-Smith (10 years), Pat Chancellor (20 years) and Freda Blackford (30 years).

The guest speaker was Robert Bell, the commandant of the Ellis County Detachment 1452 of the Marine Corps Reserves and the Ellis County coordinator of the Marine Toys for Tots program.
