The community is invited to attend the celebration of the Waxahachie Chautauqua’s birthday at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 26, at the Chautauqua Auditorium in Getzendaner Park.

The party will include cake, ice cream and singing.

There will also be a special astronomy program, “Could Anyone Else Be Out There? Searching for Exoplanets is Alive and Well in Texas,” with Richard Olenick and Arthur Sweeney from the University of Dallas.

Come to the auditorium July 26 if you have ever wondered:

• Are other solar systems out there?

• How are planets and star systems discovered?

• How many other planets can support life? Can we see them?

“Discover the skies through the eyes of these two expert and enthusiastic astrophysicists from the University of Dallas,” a spokesman said.

The evening is hosted by the Waxahachie Chautauqua Preservation Society.
